A training workshop titled “Rare Disease Biobanking” and a symposium titled “Bridging Biobanks in MENA Countries to Promote Research and Healthcare” will be held in Izmir, Turkey, from the 2nd to the 4th May 2018.
Both meetings aim to establish and strengthen existing collaborative biobanking networks in the MENA countries, as well as to facilitate their integration with the pan-European counterparts. They are supported by the European Commission H2020 project ADOPT BBMRI-ERIC under grant number 676550, and organised by BBMRI Turkey.
The topics of the workshop will include principles of rare diseases biobanking, ethical concepts, quality management systems, data and database management and security.
Following the expert presentations on the first day of the workshop, a problem-based tutorial section focussing on the challenges in RD biobanking and hands-on training will be provided on the second day.
