To respond to the researchers’ need to share simultaneously both biological material and associated data (i.e. preanalytical and personal data), SBP has developed a new version of its Material Transfer Agreement template: the MTA 2.0. This new template complements SBP’s MTA 1.0, which was restricted to the transfer of biological material together with preanalytical data only.
The MTA 2.0 consists of two documents, a Master Legal Instrument and a Project Agreement template. The Master Legal Instrument, on the one hand, offers a general basis for any transfer of biological material and associated data. The Project Agreement, on the other hand, is specific to a research project and has to be filled in by the researchers to meet their particular needs.
SOP for quality control strategy implementation
To support biobanks in the establishment of their Quality strategy, Swiss Biobanking Platform offers SOP documentation to support researchers and biobanks. These provides guidance on adequate sample and process quality controls to be documented by the biobanks to validate the reliability of their operational processes. This new development aims at increasing the overall research quality and is part of SBP Quality strategy to satisfy the ISO 20387 “General requirements for biobanking”.
